A modest proposal
Here's something I thought of a while ago (the 9th) and was encouraged to post here, but just now got around to doing.

I was reading the results of the GNOME usability study, thinking that it was somewhat of a shame that they wrote all the code and then found out that the UI left some things to be desired.

Then it occured to me that, among XUL, XBL, CSS, DOM, and JavaScript, it ought to be relatively easy to make a quick UI mockup (or several) that could do certain tasks as if it were the real program. Then, those designs could be tested and compared without having to write any toolkit code. Another possibility is the simulation of different screen resolutions.

Any further ideas along these lines?

Current Mood: tired
